NASA astronauts Chris Williams and Jessica Meir will carry out a spacewalk outside the International Space Station (ISS) on June 30 to replace a faulty wrist joint on the Canadarm2 robotic arm. The mission is scheduled to begin at 8:35 a.m. EDT (6:05 p.m. IST) and is expected to last about six hours and 40 minutes. NASA and the Canadian Space Agency decided the damaged component must be replaced during a spacewalk after investigating the malfunction. A spare wrist joint already aboard the ISS will be installed to restore the robotic arm's full range of motion and support future station operations. (PC: HT)
