Brazil star Neymar praised Argentina captain Lionel Messi as a "great friend" after Brazil sealed a place in the FIFA World Cup 2026 knockout stage with a 3-0 win over Scotland. Speaking after the match, Neymar said his friendship with Messi goes beyond football and described the eight-time Ballon d'Or winner as a special person on and off the field. Brazil topped Group C with seven points, thanks to a Vinicius Junior brace and a goal from Matheus Cunha.
