An emotional tribute to legendary singer Asha Bhosle marked Gorillaz’ first-ever stadium concert at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on June 20. During the performance, Asha’s granddaughter, Zanai Bhosle, joined the band on stage for a rendition of The Shadowy Light, the late icon’s final recorded song from Gorillaz’ album The Mountain (Parvat). Overcome with emotion as Asha Bhosle’s original vocals played, Zanai broke into tears before thanking the audience with folded hands. Sharing the moment on social media, she wrote, “I hope you’re proud.” Asha Bhosle passed away on April 12, 2026, aged 92, leaving behind an unparalleled musical legacy cherished across generations.
