Pakistan's Climate Change Minister Musadik Malik warned that his country would protect its share of water under the Indus Waters Treaty. Speaking at a press conference, he said, "If anyone lays a hand over our share of water, we'll cut off that hand." The remarks came after India kept the treaty in abeyance following the 2025 Pahalgam terror attack. Pakistan says the treaty is still legally valid and cannot be suspended by one country. India has said it will fully use its share of the Indus waters and maintain its current position on the treaty.
