The UK has entered its third heatwave of 2026, with temperatures expected to reach 35°C in parts of southeast England later this week. The Met Office said southeast England has officially met the heatwave criteria after three days of high temperatures. The UK Health Security Agency has issued heat health alerts across England, warning of health risks for older people and those with medical conditions. While this heatwave is not expected to break records, hot weather will continue through the week. Northern parts of the UK may also become warmer by the weekend, with thunderstorms possible.
