South Africa international midfielder Jayden Adams has died at the age of 25, just weeks after representing his country at the FIFA World Cup 2026. The Mamelodi Sundowns player featured in all 3 of South Africa's group-stage matches and helped the team reach the knockout stage before they were eliminated by Canada. Adams had recently won the CAF Champions League with Sundowns and was regarded as one of South Africa's brightest young footballers.
