Gitanjali Angmo, wife of climate activist Sonam Wangchuk, expressed disappointment after the Delhi High Court declined to grant interim relief on her plea to transfer him from Safdarjung Hospital to a private medical facility. She argued that there was no need for government intervention in his medical treatment and questioned the continued role of authorities after his hospitalisation. Angmo maintained that the family only sought independent medical care and transparency regarding Wangchuk’s condition. The court, however, refused immediate relief, stating that medical decisions should be guided by expert opinion, while scheduling the best hearing on the matter. (PC: The Hindu)
