India has summoned Ukraine's Ambassador after Indian sailor Sagar Gupta was killed in an attack on the commercial vessel MV OMORFI in the Black Sea. The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) condemned the strike and called attacks on merchant ships "unacceptable". Two other Indian crew members on board were reported safe. India asked Ukraine to ensure the safety of commercial shipping and civilian sailors. The incident comes amid rising risks in the Black Sea due to the Russia-Ukraine conflict. India has also advised Indian seafarers to carefully assess security risks before taking jobs in the region. (PC: Reuters)
