Ruchika Singh’s mother has said the family has submitted an apology letter to police after her daughter was booked over alleged abusive remarks against Prime Minister Narendra Modi during a July 23 protest at Jantar Mantar. “We have already given an apology letter to the police officials. We are very sorry about what has happened,” she said. Noida Police registered a Zero FIR under relevant sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita and will transfer the case to Delhi Police as the alleged incident occurred in the national capital. Police are continuing efforts to trace Singh as the investigation proceeds. (PC: X)
