Multiple WhatsApp users in India reported on Monday that their accounts were placed "under review", temporarily blocking access to messaging and calling features for up to 24 hours. Affected users said they received no prior warning before seeing a notice stating their account activity and device information were being checked for compliance with WhatsApp's terms of service. Responding to the issue, WhatsApp said its automated systems sometimes make mistakes while detecting misuse. The company said it works to restore wrongly flagged accounts as quickly as possible but did not disclose how many users were affected or the exact cause. (PC: HT)
