Nepal’s devastating Himalayan floods have damaged hydropower projects and disrupted around 430 megawatts of electricity supply, affecting more than 12% of the country’s 3.2-gigawatt installed power capacity. The Nepal Electricity Authority said production, transmission and distribution facilities were damaged, causing power disruptions. The floods have killed at least 100 people, while hundreds remain missing after rivers surged through villages near the Tibetan border.
