China has warned Nepal of a possible fresh flood within three days after a newly formed barrier lake upstream began overflowing, raising fears of another disaster along the Nepal-China border. The lake, near the confluence of the Chhochen Khola and Purepu Tsangpo rivers, held around 2 million cubic metres of water on Thursday, with another 3 million cubic metres expected to flow in. The warning comes a day after a glacier collapse triggered devastating floods in Nepal's Bhotekoshi river. Nepal has urged people living along the Bhotekoshi, Trishuli and Narayani rivers to stay away from riverbanks.
