Aerial footage has revealed the dramatic transformation of Gyirong Port on the Nepal-China border after devastating flash floods and mudslides struck the region. Before-and-after images show the port standing intact before the disaster, while the aftermath is dominated by mud and debris. The floods severely damaged the area and disrupted a major trade route linking Nepal with Tibet. Roads connecting Gyirong Township and the port have been closed in both directions, while communications and power links were also affected. Chinese authorities reported major casualties and missing people following the mudslide. However, Hindustan Times said it could not independently verify the footage’s authenticity.
