The death toll from devastating flash floods along the Nepal-Tibet border has risen to 587, with hundreds still missing as rescue operations continue. The disaster has caused widespread destruction across several areas, damaging roads, bridges and infrastructure and leaving communities isolated. India’s Ministry of External Affairs said Indian nationals remain unaccounted for, while authorities are coordinating with Nepal and China to locate and assist them. Rescue teams are facing difficult terrain, damaged communications and the threat of further flooding from unstable water bodies in Tibet. Helicopters and emergency teams continue searching for survivors and evacuating stranded people as authorities assess the full scale of the catastrophe. (PC: AP)
