Bangladesh plans to purchase Chinese J-10CE fighter jets, attack and VIP transport helicopters, and unmanned aerial vehicle systems under a military modernisation proposal. The procurement is expected to be completed in the current fiscal year, subject to budget approval, officials said. Dhaka has reportedly taken note of Pakistan’s use of J-10CE fighters during the May 2025 conflict with India and is considering up to 24 aircraft. China is Bangladesh’s largest arms supplier, and Dhaka already operates Chinese-origin fighter jets, trainer aircraft, tanks, naval vessels and missile systems. (PC: Economic Times)
