The Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration has suspended the licences of three food units run by ISKCON Juhu after inspections on September 3 found multiple food-safety violations. The units at Hare Krishna Land, ISKCON Juhu Food Services-Restaurant and Govinda’s Restaurant were found to have issues including pest infestation, poor storage and inadequate segregation of raw and cooked food. Inspectors also flagged drainage problems and gaps in water testing, employee medical checks and food-safety training. At Govinda’s, standing water was found in cold storage, along with blocked drains and pest-control deficiencies. The action was part of a wider FDA crackdown across Maharashtra.
