China Southern Airlines will resume direct passenger flights between Guangzhou and New Delhi from September 21, 2026, ending a six-year suspension of the route. The airline will operate the service daily, restoring an important air link between India and China. The route was suspended amid the COVID-19 pandemic and subsequent tensions in bilateral relations. Its revival comes as India-China ties show signs of gradual improvement, with Chinese President Xi Jinping visiting New Delhi for the BRICS Summit.
