India Refuses Women’s Asia Cup Trophy From Mohsin Naqvi, Skips Presentation Ceremony

India refused to accept the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 trophy from Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president and Pakistan Cricket Board chief Mohsin Naqvi after defeating Sri Lanka in the final in Dubai on Sunday. The trophy presentation was delayed by nearly 50 minutes amid uncertainty over whether Naqvi would hand over the silverware. When the ceremony finally began, Naqvi was present on the dais, but the Indian team remained inside the dressing room and did not collect the trophy. Sri Lankan players received their runners-up medals and cheque from Naqvi. The incident echoed last year’s men’s Asia Cup controversy involving India and Naqvi.
