India’s women’s cricket team refused to accept the Women’s Asia Cup trophy from Asian Cricket Council (ACC) chairman Mohsin Naqvi after defeating Sri Lanka by 72 runs in the final in Dubai. India coach Amol Muzumdar said the decision was in line with the BCCI’s position. “India are officially the (Asia Cup) champions. Trophy or no trophy doesn't matter to us. This is BCCI's stand (to not take the trophy from Naqvi),” Muzumdar said. The Indian players stayed inside the dressing room during the presentation. Sri Lanka received the runners-up cheque from Naqvi, while the incident echoed last year’s Asia Cup trophy controversy. (PC: NDTV)
