Indian taekwondo player Etisha Das has appealed to Prime Minister Narendra Modi after being excluded from India’s final contingent for the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. Das claims she won bronze at the Asian Taekwondo Championships and that the IOA had earlier assured the Punjab and Haryana High Court that her name had been forwarded for the Games. She alleges that despite this, she was omitted from the final list. The High Court has issued notice in her contempt petition against IOA president P.T. Usha, with the matter scheduled for September 29. Selection authorities maintain that Asian Championship medals do not automatically guarantee Asian Games selection.
