The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has initiated penal action against Amazon, Swiggy Instamart, BigBasket, Flipkart India and Zepto over various food safety and regulatory non-compliances. The regulator cited misbranding and misleading claims, along with the sale and display of prohibited or poisonous food articles. The action includes misleading claims involving Happilo Premium Date Bites - Zesty Orange. Swiggy Instamart and BigBasket also face action over misleading claims and non-compliant product information concerning Milky Mist Fresh Low Fat Cream, Farm Fresh Curd and Greek Yoghurt.
