Gulveer Singh won silver in the men’s 10,000m final at the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, finishing 1.87 seconds behind Bahrain’s Birhanu Balew. Gulveer clocked 28:29.38, while Balew took gold. The result gave Gulveer his second consecutive Asian Games medal in the 10,000m, following his bronze at the 2022 Hangzhou Games. He had also won silver in the event at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, becoming the first Indian man to win a Commonwealth Games medal in the 10,000m. Gulveer’s latest podium finish adds another major medal to India’s athletics campaign at the Asian Games and further strengthens his record in long-distance running across major international competitions in recent seasons.
