Around 5,500 children at 400 anganwadi centres in Vadodara, Gujarat, went without their daily milk supply for a week after Amul stopped deliveries over a payment dispute. The supply was halted on September 17 after the credit balance available with the supplier was exhausted. ICDS officials said delays in receiving monthly bills affected the payment process, while the Vadodara Municipal Corporation said bills were cleared whenever they were received. The Corporation later cleared the pending payment on September 23, following which Amul resumed supplies. All 5,500 milk pouches were distributed to the anganwadi centres on September 24.
