Virat Kohli became the second batter in men’s ODI cricket to score 15,000 runs during India’s first ODI against West Indies in Thiruvananthapuram on Sunday. Kohli reached the milestone in his 303rd innings, 74 innings faster than Sachin Tendulkar, who achieved it in 377 innings in 2007. Kohli needed 59 runs to reach the landmark and completed it in just 46 balls. He raised both hands towards Tendulkar in a gesture of respect before acknowledging the crowd’s standing ovation.
