Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay has announced a cash reward of Rs 50 lakh for Indian squash player Abhay Singh after his silver medal at the 2026 Asian Games in Japan. Abhay lost 9-11, 5-11, 5-11 to Malaysia’s defending champion Ng Eain Yow in the men’s singles final on September 27. Congratulating the player, Vijay said the achievement had brought pride to Tamil Nadu and India. He also expressed hope that Abhay’s success would inspire young athletes. Abhay became only the second Indian man to win an Asian Games singles silver in squash. (PC: India Today)
