India’s Pincky Balhara won bronze in the women’s under-78kg kurash event at the 2026 Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya on Monday. She lost 0-5 to South Korea’s Sumin Mo in the semifinals after defeating Lim Garam 3-0 in the quarterfinals. The victory in the quarterfinals had secured her a medal. With this bronze, Balhara became the only Indian athlete to win two kurash medals at the Asian Games. She had previously won silver in the women’s under-52kg category at the 2018 Jakarta Asian Games, where she lost to Uzbekistan’s Gulnor Sulaymanova in the final. (PC: X)
