India secured a double podium in the men’s javelin throw at the 2026 Asian Games, with Yashvir Singh winning silver and Rohit Yadav taking bronze. Yashvir produced a personal-best throw of 85.72 metres on his sixth and final attempt, moving ahead of compatriot Rohit, whose best effort was 84.35m. Sri Lanka’s Rumesh Pathirage won gold with 88.55m, extending his strong 2026 season. Pakistan’s Olympic champion Arshad Nadeem finished fourth with a season-best 80.29m. The Indian duo entered the competition as leading medal contenders after defending champion Neeraj Chopra withdrew because of a ligament injury. Yashvir had also won bronze at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow earlier.
