India has strongly rejected Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s remarks on Jammu and Kashmir during his address to the United Nations General Assembly. Ministry of External Affairs spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal called the comments “unwarranted references” and said the issue concerns India’s territorial integrity and sovereignty. He asserted that no external party has “locus standi” on the matter. Erdogan has previously raised Kashmir at international forums, while India has consistently opposed external involvement in the issue. The remarks came during the UN General Assembly session in New York.
