Elon Musk on October 11 renewed his criticism of Reliance Industries chairman Mukesh Ambani over Starlink’s proposed entry into India’s satellite internet market. Musk accused Ambani’s online supporters of hypocrisy, arguing that they simultaneously claim Starlink cannot compete with Jio’s low prices and poses a serious competitive threat. He said Starlink’s entry would expand consumer choice and encourage affordable pricing. Musk also argued that competition might reduce Reliance’s profits without threatening its business. Meanwhile, India’s government rejected allegations of regulatory favouritism, stating that licensed satellite operators must meet security requirements before launching commercial services.
