CPI(M) Rajya Sabha MP John Brittas alleged that Delhi Police personnel assaulted him during protests against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar on Sunday. The CPI(M) shared a video showing Brittas appearing distressed and being helped out of a vehicle, alleging he was left injured by the roadside. Brittas said he was detained while supporting student activists in Connaught Place and was restrained by CRPF personnel inside a police vehicle despite identifying himself as an MP. He reportedly experienced breathing difficulties and was later admitted to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital. Congress MP Shashi Tharoor called for an investigation into the incident.
