Iran has rejected the United States’ response to its seven conditions for reopening the Strait of Hormuz, saying key demands remain unresolved. Mohsen Rezaei, Iran’s security chief and secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, described Washington’s response as “insufficient,” according to Iranian state media on Sunday. He said the US must clarify its position on issues that remain unclear to Tehran before negotiations can make progress. The standoff places the strategic waterway at the centre of diplomatic tensions, with global energy shipments at stake. The impasse threatens to prolong one of the conflict’s most consequential flashpoints as both sides remain divided over reopening the passage. (PC: X)
