A 35-year-old Saudi national working at OpenAI has been arrested in the United States for allegedly placing a recording device inside the company’s San Francisco office. The US Justice Department said Abdulrahman Alfozan was arrested on October 9 after OpenAI’s security team discovered the device late last month. Prosecutors allege he hid a USB device inside a television in an executive conference room. A second device was reportedly found in his unattended bag. OpenAI said there was no indication that he had accessed or stolen its AI models, source code or customer data. He faces up to 5 years in prison if convicted. (PC: NDTV)
