A video showing senior IAS officer Kumar Rajeev Ranjan allegedly abusing JKAS officer Beenish Wani during an official virtual meeting has triggered widespread outrage. The October 14 meeting concerned Mission YUVA and the role of the National Rural Livelihoods Mission. Wani confirmed the incident and said the video was neither morphed nor AI-generated. Ranjan expressed regret for his remarks but alleged that Wani had provoked him. Jammu and Kashmir’s Labour and Employment Department raised concerns about selectively edited clips and said the matter would be handled under applicable rules and regulations.
