India has criticised a United Nations special rapporteur for alleged omissions and inaccuracies in a report concerning religious freedom and funeral rights. At the UN, Indian diplomat Bhavika Mangalanandan recalled that Pakistan initially refused to accept the bodies of several soldiers killed during the 1999 Kargil War. She said the Indian Army buried Pakistani soldiers with military honours and Islamic religious rites. India also accused Pakistan of double standards on terrorism, minority rights and religious freedom, urging it to address human rights concerns within territories under its control. (PC: NDTV)
