The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has announced a protest against the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls in Kochi, Kerala, on November 7. Titled “Jantar Mantar at Kochi”, the demonstration will take place at Rajendra Maidan from 4 PM under the slogan “Save Democracy! Cancel SIR!” CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, Vijay Mallangi and Aafreen Nawaz are expected to participate. The protest marks the party’s first major mobilisation since several leaders were detained in Delhi in October during demonstrations against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the electoral revision exercise.
