The Meteorological Department has issued an orange alert for snowfall across Himachal Pradesh, predicting light to moderate snowfall in most areas and heavy snowfall in isolated regions of the mid and high hills. The alert also warns of thunderstorms, lightning, and hailstorms in lower areas, with the wet spell expected to continue until February 6. Road clearing operations are underway after previous snowfall led to the closure of 504 roads, including four national highways. Despite rising minimum temperatures, intense cold wave conditions persist, with Kukumseri recording the coldest temperature at minus 8.1 degrees Celsius.
