Concerns arose as Samajwadi Party MLA Manoj Kumar Pandey resigned as chief whip and eight MLAs skipped a meeting called by Yadav. Action will be taken against them. Rajya Sabha polls in Uttar Pradesh have 11 candidates for 10 seats, with BJP fielding eight and Samajwadi Party three. The elections are keenly contested.
