Nayab Singh Saini is now Haryana's new Chief Minister, succeeding Manohar Lal Khattar. Five ministers, including BJP MLAs Banwari Lal and Jai Parkash Dalal, took oath with him. Former Home Minister Anil Vij was absent. Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Saini, expressing hopes for Haryana's progress. Saini, a representative of the OBC community, took over amid strains in the BJP-JJP alliance. He thanked Modi, Amit Shah, JP Nadda, Biplab Deb, and Khattar. Saini had become Haryana BJP's state president in October.
