India made history by becoming the first nation to land a spacecraft on the south pole of the Moon with its Chandrayaan-3 mission. The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) achieved this milestone feat on Wednesday, with the Vikram lander successfully touching down in the hazardous lunar region.
