Hyderabad's Navayuga Engineering Company Ltd, constructing the Silkyara-Barkot tunnel in Uttarakhand, which collapsed last year, donated Rs 55 crore to BJP through electoral bonds, per Election Commission data. The project, slated for completion in 2022, faced delays as a section of the tunnel under construction collapsed, trapping a total of 41 workers. NEC bought 55 bonds worth Rs 1 crore each from April 2019 to October 2022. The firm boasts projects like Dhola-Sadia Bridge and Polavaram Project. The single-tube 4.5-km tunnel aims to improve connectivity to Char Dham Yatra sites. Supreme Court's recent ruling annulled the electoral bonds scheme, citing concerns over transparency in political funding.
