Among other parties, 40% of Trinamool Congress, 34% of Congress, and 36% of AIADMK candidates also face criminal charges. The analysis of 1625 candidates highlights 252 declared criminal cases, with 161 deemed 'serious'. Alarming criminal backgrounds include cases of murder, attempt to murder, and crimes against women. Additionally, 41% of constituencies set for the first phase are 'red alert', indicating multiple candidates with criminal records.
