Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Manipur on April 15 ahead of general elections. He will likely address a rally in Imphal. The BJP has fielded T Basanta Kumar for the inner Manipur seat. The party hasn't nominated a candidate for the outer Manipur seat, instead supporting K Timothy Zimik from the Naga People’s Front. Ethnic clashes between Meiteis and Kuki-Zo community have plagued Manipur since last year, resulting in casualties and displacement.
