Double Olympic medalist PV Sindhu faced a tough defeat against China's Han Yue in the Badminton Asia Championships pre-quarterfinals. Despite a valiant effort, Sindhu lost 18-21 21-13 17-21 in a match lasting over an hour. Meanwhile, India's women's doubles pair, Tanisha Crasto and Ashwini Ponnappa, also exited the tournament after losing to Japan's Nami Matsuyama and Chiharu Shida.
