Meghalaya CM Joins Voters in Early Morning Queue, Encourages High Turnout

Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma joined voters in the early morning queue at a polling station in Tura for the first phase of Lok Sabha polls. Arriving at 6:30 am, Sangma, also the NPP president, was pleasantly surprised to find voters already lined up. Expressing delight at the turnout, he emphasized voting as a citizen's right. Encouraging large participation, Sangma urged citizens to exercise their democratic rights. Voting is underway in Meghalaya's Tura and Shillong constituencies, among the 102 seats in the first phase of Lok Sabha elections. Polling commenced at 7 am and will conclude at 6 pm.
