The Election Commission of India has called for repolling in 8 polling stations in Arunachal Pradesh following reports of EVM damage and violence during the simultaneous Lok Sabha and Assembly polls on April 19. The Commission declared the initial polling in these stations void and scheduled fresh polling for April 24 from 6 am to 2 pm. Deputy Chief Electoral Officer Liken Koyu confirmed the decision in a communique issued on Sunday. This move aims to ensure fair and peaceful elections in the region amidst concerns of irregularities.
