With the heat index expected to surpass the "danger" level in several areas, authorities advise staying hydrated, seeking shade, and minimizing time spent outdoors. The situation underscores the country's vulnerability to climate change, as half of its provinces face drought conditions. Sweltering temperatures have also prompted remote learning in drought-affected areas and Manila.
