Kolkata endured scorching temperatures of 41.6°C, the hottest April day in 44 years and second-hottest in 50 years. Meteorologists warn of a relentless 10-day heatwave, with five days already surpassing 40°C. This surpasses the previous record set on April 25, 1980, at 41.7°C.
