Scorching heatwave is sweeping through various parts of India, hitting even typically cooler areas like Kerala's Alappuzha and Matheran in Maharashtra. Unprecedented temperatures were recorded in April, with Bengaluru, Aminidivi, and Arogyavaram experiencing some of the highest ever. Cuttack in Odisha reached 43.7°C, while Kurnool, Andhra Pradesh soared to 45.2°C. Notably, Palakkad in Kerala reached 41.6°C, the fourth highest ever. This heatwave underscores the alarming trend of rising temperatures, affecting regions not accustomed to such extreme weather conditions.
