Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had a close call when the dais collapsed during an election rally in Paliganj, Bihar, on May 27. Gandhi was on stage to support Misa Bharti, RJD president Lalu Prasad's daughter, who is contesting the Patliputra Lok Sabha seat. As Bharti escorted Gandhi to his seat, a section of the platform gave way, causing him to lose balance. Bharti quickly grabbed his hand, helping him regain footing. Despite the scare, Gandhi was unharmed and continued with the rally, reassuring the crowd and affirming his support for Bharti.
