Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Kanyakumari to meditate at the Vivekananda Rock Memorial from May 30 to June 1. Upon arrival, he offered prayers at Bhagavathy Amman Temple. The meditation will take place at Dhyan Mandapam, where Swami Vivekananda is believed to have had a divine vision. Security has been tightened with 2000 police personnel and Indian Coast Guard and Navy on alert. The Congress has opposed Modi's visit, alleging it circumvents election silence period rules and has filed a complaint with the Election Commission.
